Former CIMA President on Power List Print E-mail

Claire Ighodaro, President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) from 2003 – 2004, has been voted the 5th most powerful black woman in New Nation’s Power List 2007.

Listed by New Nation as ‘One of the financial world’s most important players’, Claire Ighodaro was the first female President at CIMA. Until December 2004 Claire was an executive at BT plc where she held a number of senior posts, including Finance Director, Broadband, BT Group plc.

Claire is currently non-executive Director of the Banking Code Standards Board, an Independent Board Member of the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR), a Trustee of the British Council, a Council Member of the National Learning and Skills Council and chairs the Open University Audit Committee.

CIMA is responsible for the education and training of management accountants who work in industry, commerce and not-for-profit and has more members in the public sector than any other UK based body.
