Alliance and Leicester internal appointments

Alliance & Leicester International (ALIL) today announces the appointment of Simon Nuttall and Simon Ripton to the role of acting Joint Managing Directors of the offshore savings bank. The news comes after the departure of Simon Hull who steps down from the Managing Director role on 12 September, after 19 years at the bank, to take up an equivalent position at another Isle of Man licensed bank. Simon Nuttall has ten years’ experience in offshore financial services, joining Alliance & Leicester International in 1999 and becoming a Director in 2002. Simon is a Chartered Accountant and specialises in banking regulation and compliance. He will continue to focus on these areas in addition to controlling the Finance and IT aspects of the business. Simon Nuttall, Joint Managing Director of Alliance & Leicester International said: “Whilst this is a challenging time for banks everywhere due to the credit crisis, ALIL is a very strong and competitive business which has been consistently successful within its chosen offshore market sector. Simon Ripton and I will have the benefit of being supported by an experienced and committed team here on the Isle of Man.” Simon Ripton joined the Alliance & Leicester Group eight years ago and moved to the Isle of Man in December 2006 to become Sales & Marketing Manager, where he developed a portfolio of innovative online savings solutions for the offshore market. In his new role Simon will continue to oversee the Marketing function as well as taking on responsibility for Customer Services.
