Armor Designs Inc. has appointed David Seaton to the board with immediate effect as chief financial officer.

The firm said that this step was part of the previously announced restructuring of the board to ensure that the company is best placed to implement the next phase of its growth strategy.

Seaton, 47, was appointed as interim CFO of the Company on 14 March 2008. He is an accountant by profession and was the former CEO of ArmorGroup International plc, a protective security company based in London, prior to which he was the CFO for eight years.

Seaton also held a number of senior finance positions within Schlumberger during his twelve year tenure including postings in Nigeria, France and Russia.

He is a non-executive director of Scansol Limited, The Mole Clinic (Networks) Limited and The Mole Clinic Limited.

Charles Snyder, CEO of AIM-listed Armor Designs (LSE:ADID), a designer and manufacturer of composite armour products targeting numerous sectors, pointed out that Seaton has a wealth of experience in the defence sector as well as public company life from his time spent at ArmorGroup International.

“His involvement in the company since March has been hugely beneficial, and we are pleased that as a member of the board his contribution will further support the company's strategic development,” he said.
