Cains Beer Company PLC has appointed Paul Morgan as finance director with immediate effect.

Morgan, 39, has over 18 years experience in the leisure, retailing and brewing sectors.

He joins the company from Stanley Casinos Limited, where he was director of finance, the main trading company of Genting Stanley plc, the largest casino operator in the UK.

He has considerable experience in the leisure sector and across consumer-facing industries and the board of Cains said it believes that his understanding of medium to large businesses and his expertise within multi-site operations will be a considerable strength and asset to Cains.

Before moving to Stanley Casinos Limited, Morgan has also held finance positions within GUS Plc and Carlsberg-Tetley Plc.

Sudarghara Dusanj, chief executive of AIM-listed Cains Beer (LSE:CBC), said the appointment represented the final step in the assembly of an experienced and highly talented board of executives to drive the company and its brands forward, so as to fulfil its vision of becoming Britain's favourite beer company.

The craft brewer and pub operator from Liverpool operates around 100 pubs, mainly in the North of England.
