Ekay FD confirmed on board Print E-mail
Monday, 26 November 2007
Ekay PLC, the AIM quoted advertising and marketing company, has appointed Mike Lording to the board with immediate effect.

He will continue in his existing role as finance director and company secretary. He replaces Stuart Cumberland, who had previously filled the role on a part-time basis.

Ekay said that Cumberland’s help was invaluable in achieving the firm’s AIM listing in January 2006, but that it was apparent that a full-time appointment was required as the company grew both organically and through acquisition.

Lording, 49, has been with Ekay since April 2007, becoming finance director and company secretary in June 2007. He has been a career company accountant since starting work in 1980 with the Department of Employment.

He has since been employed by a number of companies, initially in the role of project accountant and in 1999 became finance director of Telia International Carrier Ltd, the UK subsidiary of the Swedish national telecoms carrier.

In 2003, he co-founded and successfully built up a communications carrier business, T-Liason Ltd. Lording spent sixteen months as a financial consultant to Frans Maas (UK) Ltd and AXA UK immediately prior to joining Ekay.

Eddie Powell, chief executive of Ekay (LSE:EKY), commented, “Mike's contribution since joining us last April has been tangible through the implantation of stricter internal controls leading to better cash flow management.”
