Ex Rothschild man for Close Brothers Group |

Close Invoice Finance, part of the FTSE 250 listed merchant banking group Close Brothers Group (LON:CBG), has appointed Ian Steward as Managing Director for the North of England. Steward will lead Close’s expanding Northern Commercial Centre and brings over 12 years of invoice discounting experience, including most recently eight years as Managing Director of Five Arrows Commercial Finance, NM Rothschild’s invoice finance subsidiary. In his new role, Steward will be responsible for driving new business growth and supporting existing clients across the North of England. Steward commented: “I’ve long held Close Invoice Finance in high regard and am delighted to be finally joining them. In the current difficult market conditions, being backed by the Close Brothers Banking Group genuinely sets us apart from other providers. With our service and product excellence, I believe there is a real opportunity for Close to become the preeminent independent invoice finance provider in the region.” David Thomson, Chief Executive Officer of Close Invoice Finance added: “We’re delighted to bring Ian on board. His industry expertise, understanding of the North and ambition will make him a real asset to our business.” Prior to this appointment, Ian worked at Rothschild for 23 years and has undertaken various roles at the bank, including a Director in the Banking Division as well as his role as Managing Director of Five Arrows. |
