Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) announced that Mark Tothill has recently joined the firm as finance director.  Mark, who had previously been at Linklaters since 2002, will also sit on the BLP board.

Mark held the position of UK Finance Director at Linklaters and then acted as Chief Financial Officer for the global firm. His experience goes beyond the professional service sector having spent nine years at Cable & Wireless plc where he had various senior finance roles. He started his career at Price Waterhouse where he qualified in 1990.

At BLP Mark will lead the finance team and focus on financial performance following a period of significant investment, which saw the firm open offices in Moscow and Abu Dhabi in 2009.

Neville Eisenberg, BLP’s managing partner, said:

“I am delighted to have Mark on board in this important role. He has a rich blend of experience which will prove invaluable in helping us to achieve our financial strategy.”

Mark said: “BLP has been one of the success stories in the legal market in recent years. I have watched the firm’s progress and am now delighted to be part of a team with such ambition for success. While the global slowdown has been particularly challenging for professional services businesses those, like BLP, who have continued to innovate and have kept the needs of clients front of mind, will start to reap the rewards.”
