New Finance Director at TUI Travel

The TUI Travel Activity Sector Student Travel and Adventure Group (STAG) has announced the appointment of Paul Hawkes as Finance Director. Previously with KPMG Corporate Finance, Paul then worked within the TUI Travel PLC Group Corporate Finance team for over 3 years. As Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, Paul has been heavily involved in all of the Student acquisitions in the UK and North America over the last 24 months and, therefore, joins with an excellent knowledge of the businesses and people. Hawkes says, “I am delighted to take up the position of finance director for STAG. The position will allow me to assist with future growth and acquisitions at a time of expansion for this sector. This role will provide an opportunity to further my involvement with previously acquired companies whilst helping to provide an environment for other entrepreneurs to join the Group and realise the full potential of their businesses”. Ian Finlay, managing director, STAG adds, “This is an exciting growth period for the group and as we move into our next phase of growth. Paul’s M&A background and analytical skills will prove invaluable.” The appointment will allow Karen Watson to take up her new role as Commercial Director for the Gap & Experiential businesses. Composed entirely of newly acquired companies, this is a new key role within the division and for incoming vendors and their teams. Paul Williams recently moved into the role of Finance Director for the School Ski businesses and Alison Spearink continues to focus on the Activity & Education cluster as Divisional Finance Manager.
