Remote computing firm Nasstar appoints Eve Print E-mail
Thursday, 06 December 2007
Nasstar plc, which provides on-demand computing, has appointed Maurice Anthony Eve as finance director of the group with immediate effect.

Eve, 53, qualified as a chartered accountant in 1981. He established his own practice in 1992 to provide business and taxation advice. In 1996 and as part of his practice, Eve advised on the AIM flotation and joined the board of Highams Systems Services Group plc, an IT contractor and recruitment agency.

He subsequently sold the practice in 2003 although he remained on the board of Highams Systems Services Group plc until May 2007.

Nasstar said that Eve’s services are to be provided under a contract for services with FD Solutions. Under the terms of the contract the group will pay for the services at an agreed daily rate.

The group said that as a result it will contract for Eve to work such time as the board considers necessary and appropriate to do the job of finance director.

Charles Black, chief executive, said, “Tony’s commercial experience will be valuable to the group as we continue to achieve strong growth.”

Eve was a director of Speed 9028 Limited and its subsidiaries from 23 January 2004 until he resigned on 20 March 2006 following the sale of the company on 18 March 2006 to a third party. Speed was compulsorily wound up on 5 February 2007.

Nasstar said that Richard Malkin is resigning as part-time finance director of the group to concentrate on his full time position as finance director of Hoodless Brennan plc.

Nasstar plc (LSE:NASA) was founded in 1998 by Charles Black with the vision of providing on-demand computing as an alternative to traditional on-premise computers and software.

The group’s on-demand computing service enables users to do all of their computing, including access to their files and applications, on the internet rather than on a local computer.

Nasstar was admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange Alternative Investment Market in December 2005.
