Royal & SunAlliance appoints new UK FD Print E-mail

Royal & SunAlliance has announced the appointment of Caroline Ramsay as its new UK finance director.

Ramsay is currently R&SA’s group financial planning and analysis director.

Before joining R&SA in April 2007, she had spent 12 years with KPMG in audit and general practice and a further 12 years with Aviva, working in a range of senior finance roles.

Ramsay will begin the handover process on 14 April and will be reporting directly to UK chief executive, Bridget McIntyre.

Royal & SunAlliance (LSE:RSA) is one of the world’s leading multinational quoted insurance groups, with the capacity to write business in over 130 countries and with major operations in the UK, Scandinavia, Canada, Ireland, the Middle East and Latin America.

Focusing on general insurance, it has around 22,000 employees and, in 2007, its net written premiums were £5.8bn.

Within the UK, Royal & SunAlliance is the largest commercial lines insurer, covering the insurance and risk management needs of a significant number of FTSE 100 companies.
