Venture Production plc has appointed Peter Turner as finance director in place of Marie-Louise Clayton, who will be leaving the company on 31 December.
Turner will be joining Venture Production (LSE:VPC) on 19 November and will be appointed to the board on 6 December. He was previously at The BOC Group plc, the worldwide industrial gases, vacuum and distribution services company, before its acquisition by Linde AG earlier this year. He held a number of senior financial positions including director of taxation and treasury and finance director of the industrial and special products division. Turner qualified as a chartered accountant whilst working at PricewaterhouseCoopers and has a degree in chemistry from Oxford University. Marie-Louise Clayton was appointed to the board on 14 February 2005. She is a certified accountant with a degree in Law from Exeter University. She has worked internationally at a senior business and financial level in a number of major industrial companies including Exxon, Alcatel, GEC Alstom and, before joining Venture, as group finance director and chief information officer of the primary food division of Associated British Foods plc. Venture Production acquires, operates and revitalises 'stranded' assets - oil and gas fields with proven but untapped potential. The group brings advanced technology, modern operating practices and a team of engineers, geologists and other professionals to focus on fields that may no longer fit the portfolios of other companies. Venture has increased production from only 200 barrels of oil per day in 1999 to 44,706 barrels of oil per day in 2006. Revenues have grown from £1m in 1999 to £360m in 2006.
