Recent findings have shown that the reach of the Corporate Finance Evening Programme, to be run at London Business School, has stretched to additional audiences.
Whist the Programme predominantly continues to attract key Finance professionals from traditional Finance sectors – financial services, investment banking and fund management – record numbers of professionals from other sectors will also be participating. This years’ class sees an increased proportion of professionals from industry; lawyers and management consultants will form 11 per cent of the class, and a similar percentage of the new intake will come from architecture/design, engineering, marketing and the Civil Service. "This highlights the fact that an understanding of corporate finance and its regulatory frameworks is progressively more important to those who do not work in the finance industry. Increasing regulation in the industry is making it important for those who work outside of the traditional financial sector, but who are involved in financial management, to formalise their understanding of financial reporting and statements, accounting and governance standards," the London Business School said. Practical skills The Corporate Finance Evening Programme equips participants with the knowledge and the practical skills required to succeed as a finance professional. The curriculum is drawn from London Business School's Masters in Finance programme. Broken down into three terms, the programme looks at financial accounting and analysis (term 1) - explaining how to read and interpret financial statements; corporate finance and valuation (term 2) - looking at valuation techniques and their applications; and corporate financing and risk management policy (term 3), concentrating on the use of financial instruments to fund businesses and manage risk. Founded in 1965, the London Business School graduated over 800 MBAs, Executive MBAs, Masters in Finance, Sloan Fellows and PhDs from over 70 countries last year. The School’s executive education department serves over 6,000 executives on its programmes every year. Related links |
